Ejaculation

The threat of premature ejaculation, or achieving orgasm too quickly, is a common sexual insecurity for men. Many men feel that if they come too early in the sexual encounter, they will not be able to become erect again and leave their partners unsatisfied and disappointed.

One common approach men take in staving off premature ejaculation is to distract themselves mentally during sex by thinking of unsexy things. I really don’t recommend this. For one thing, if your mind is busying itself with baseball stats, then you probably aren’t paying enough attention to your partner, leading to a somewhat impersonal-feeling experience. Secondly, this kind of approach can also dampen your own enjoyment of the encounter.

The an alternative way to delay orgasm is to recognize the sensations that lead up to it. When you feel yourself getting close, pause to change positions, slow down, or alter the stimulation in someway. Most men find this an effective strategy that can be repeated as often as necessary. Be aware, however, that stifling an orgasm once you’re close to it many times can sometimes weaken your eventual orgasm.

If all else fails and you do come sooner than you’d like to, all is not lost. You can continue to please and stimulate your partner in other ways until he or she is satisfied, or until you become erect again and are ready to go in for round two.
